A THRILLING 3-2 away win has sent Bromsgrove Sporting Colts U11s up to second place in the U11 Lilac Group in the Central Warwickshire Youth League.

Goals from Akintunde Akingbola, Jack Bate and Harrison Biddlestone edged their encounter with South Redditch Eagles, keeping the Colts level on six points with Meadow Park Saints having played a game more.

Bromsgrove Sporting Colts U14s were no match for Boldmere St Michaels Blades in U14 Division One. Marquez Daley was Sporting’s goalscorer in the 4-1 defeat, a result which keeps them seventh.

A top-two finish remains on the cards for the U15 Colts in U15 Division Five after a fine 3-0 home triumph against Hampton.

With a game in hand on second-placed Bartley Reds, who are currently three points in front, Sporting have every chance of catching their rivals if they win their final game of the season this weekend against seventh-placed Sheldon Royals.

The U18 Shamrocks returned from their away trip to Solihull with a slender 1-0 victory in U18 Division One South.

Sitting third and just three points behind leaders Hampton Hawks at the halfway stage of the season, Bromsgrove remain with a real shout of lifting the league title.

The two sides go head-to-head this weekend in a fixture that could prove decisive come the season’s end.
