THERE was joy for the Bromsgrove & District League in The FA Sunday Cup as three out of the four sides involved booked their place in the next round.

BGIS Fairfield overcame Carlton Top Spot 4-1, thanks to a Connor Collins double and strikes from Jordan Allmark and Carl Martin.

Andy Nicol, playing the morning after a night of his own wedding celebrations, scored the only goal for Austin Ex Apprentices who edged past Nottinghamshire side Attenborough Cavaliers.

Highgate Dynamos progressed with a 2-1 victory at Quorn Royals, but they had to do it the hard way after Odane Barnes and Tyron Smith were sent off.




Unfortunately Black Horse bowed out at the first stage as they slumped to a 6-0 home defeat to AFC Jacks.

Sporting Club Redditch were knocked out at the first stage of the Worcester Nursing Junior Cup, suffering a crushing 6-0 home defeat to Callow End.


Jason Gibbons bagged a brace as Awkies Allstars progressed in the Nursing Minor Cup with a 4-3 victory over Cofton Old Boys.

Joe Stewart and Mike Wakeman were also on target for Allstars.

Jamie Molyneux struck twice for Avenue FC who beat AFC Northfield 3-1 in the first round of the Birmingham FA Sunday Vase.

Chris Mcgrath also netted from the penalty spot against his former club while Luke Dugmore replied for the visitors.

Jahmel Trevis bagged four goals as Rubery Legends progressed into the next round of the Bromsgrove Charity Minor Cup with an 8-2 success over Stoke Prior.

Jake Booton (2), Chris Pryce and Morgan Trevis completed Legends’ scoring.

Meadow Park Youth are safely through following their 3-1 win at TDMS Harvington while Arrow Valley thrashed Millfield Rovers 7-2.

Jake King and Paul Halfpenny struck twice with Jay Russell, Josh Russell and Jamie Callaghan also getting on the scoresheet.

Meanwhile, Chaddesley Pensioners won 7-6 on penalties to overcome SCC Redolence after the two sides were locked at 2-2 after 90 minutes.

Bromsgrove Corinthians lead the way in Group D of the Bridgwater Cup after securing a 4-2 victory over AFC Norton.

Mike Price (2), Alex Beck and Tom Mason with the goals for Corinthians.

Hawthorns beat Crown Athletic 2-0 to reach the second round of the WA Harris Cup while Lee Bourke and Dave Phelan netted hat-tricks in Winyates’ 6-3 away win at Hizza United in the preliminary round of the Centenary Cup.
