String of successes for Bromsgrove Tennis Club

BROMSGROVE youngsters have been serving up a series of victories and other great results in their recent competitions.

In the Herefordshire and Worcestershire County Closed Tournament, Imogen Sinclair won the U18s singles and doubles.

She was also the runner-up in the Ladies’ Open and in the 18s and under mixed doubles with Scott Mortimer.

Mortimer had further success with Joe Hart in the 14s and under while Hart also won the 14s and under singles.




In the 16s and under boys’ singles, Hart was runner-up but he won the mixed doubles with Asena Pavlova.

Hart had further success, finishing runner-up with Jim Round in the boys’ doubles while Asena Pavlova won the girls’ doubles with her partner.


Stuart Shannon was runner-up in the 14s and under boys’ singles and the 14s and under boys’ doubles with James Stanford.

Shannon also won the mixed doubles with Izzy O’Connor.

O’Connor took the 14s and under girls’ doubles with her partner.

Harley Jones won the 12 and under boys’ singles and the doubles with Stanford.

Maya Hart won the girls’ singles in the ten and under and was runner-up in the girls’ doubles with her partner.

The team of the year was the 12s and under captained by Luke Petit while Hart and Shannon were joint boys’ players of the year.

Prior to that in the 120th Torbay Open in Torquay, Shannon won the 14s and under singles and was a finalist in the doubles with Hart.

Sinclair reached the semis of the 18s and under and the girls’ doubles events.
