Sporting welcome Coalville for long-anticipated season opener

COALVILLE Town will be the first obstacle for Bromsgrove Sporting to overcome as the beginning of the 2020/21 Southern League Premier Central season was finally given a start date today.

The long-awaited return to competitive action for Brendan Kelly’s men will get underway in front of the Victoria Ground faithful on Saturday September 19th, followed by back-to-back away trips to Biggleswade Town and Rushall Olympic on Saturday 26 and Tuesday 29 September respectively.

A first local derby of the season then follows against Tamworth on home turf on Tuesday October 6, but Rouslers fans will have to wait Tuesday November 17 for the long-awaited trip to Redditch United’s Trico Stadium – a fixture that was not fulfilled as a result of the 2019/20 season drawing to an early close. Bromsgrove then hope to repeat their 7-1 drubbing when welcoming their fierce rivals on April 10.

A Boxing Day clash with Alvechurch at the Victoria Ground and a trip to Stourbridge (January 2) form the two key festive fixtures, with the reverse clashes with Church and the Glassboys falling near the season’s end (April 5 and May 3 respectively).
