Sporting doing their bit in bid to kick coronavirus into touch

Bromsgrove Editorial 1st May, 2020   0

COMMUNITY spirit is alive and kicking at Bromsgrove Sporting where players and staff are continuing to do their bit to help the locality during the pandemic.

During the season, Bromsgrove Sporting players build up a pool of money which is used to celebrate at the end of the campaign.

However, this year no celebration will take place so instead the squad have agreed to donate the money collected equally between Bromsgrove Community Support and MIND – the club’s chosen charity for the season.

Midfielder Josh Quaynor is responsible for collecting the money from his team-mates and said: “All the lads were happy to donate this money to help people during this crisis. A number of our supporters will benefit from the work done by these two organisations.”

Meanwhile, Sporting continue to open the Victoria Ground during the pandemic every Tuesday from 11am to noon for anybody who wants to drop anything off for the local foodbanks.

In two weeks more than 300 items were donated to the banks operating out of Catshill Baptist Church and New Starts, Bromsgrove.

At the ground, donations need to be dropped into the trolley by the yellow gates near the reception office.

On a lighter note, Sporting fans have been voting online for their all-time favourite team and the line-up is: Jono Brown, Aaron Roberts, Craig Jones, Tom Taylor, Jack Wilson, John Pykett, Josh Quaynor, Nathan Hayward, Will Shorrock, Jason Cowley, Richard Gregory.
