BARNT Green Spartak made a welcome return to competitive action with a 2-1 Birmingham Saturday Vase success over Christ the King last weekend.
The Midland Football League Division Two side had only played once in November because of a list of postponements.
But they were good value for their latest win, which set up a last-16 trip to Birmingham League side Wake Green Amateurs next Saturday.
Mark Steele scored the first against the Coventry side, before Nasser Eidan thumped the second into the roof of the net after a long throw fell into his path, sealing their progression despite conceding a late consolation.
Spartak visit Northfield Town in the league on Saturday (2pm).
