REIGNING champions Bromsgrove School kept hold of the National Independent Schools’ Cup after a thrilling 64-47 win over London-based Alleyn’s School.
Bromsgrove returned from the University of Hertfordshire’s sports village in Hatfield as champions again, providing them with a major boost ahead of the English Schools’ national finals this weekend.
A fast start meant the scoring began almost from the centre pass, and both teams exchanged goals at regular intervals to set the tone for the final.
After building a first-quarter lead, Bromsgrove did not relinquish their grip on the game to see out victory and leave them in good heart for Saturday’s English finals, hosted by Stanborough School in Welwyn Garden City.
