DEFENDER Tom Rankin was the guest of honour at Bromsgrove Sporting Colts U8s awards evening last weekend.

The Rouslers defender was on hand to help hand out accolades alongside coaches Jon Livesey and Matt Hare during the evening, as the club’s youth sector celebrated their second season in existence and the first under the Colts banner.

Ethan Lowe and James Livesey shared the Player of the Season award, whilst Alfie Jones was named the Most Improved Player.

Ben Mumford took the Top Goalscorer award after a prolific season in 2018/19, with the Best Referee and Parents and Supporters award going to Andy Fox.

Speaking on the successful evening, which included a quiz, raffle – with prizes provided by sponsors KIP McGrath and Touch of Beauty, and tabletop football competition, coaches Hare and Livesey said: “A big thank you from all of us at the Under 8s; from coaches, parents, to the young players, for Tom taking the time to come and support such a fantastic evening.”

“We would also like to thank Julie Harrison-Cornes, her team, and Rob Birch for their fantastic hospitality on the evening at the Victoria Ground.”
