North East Worcestershire Ravens ready for new season

Bromsgrove Editorial 10th Mar, 2016 Updated: 17th Oct, 2016   0

NORTH East Worcestershire Ravens launch their season on Sunday with a Masters Heritage game at Hopwood Park, Kings Norton RFC.

This will be the first outing under the new team name of Halcyons Masters RL as a tribute to the first ever rugby league team in the Midlands and their founder David Pickett.

The Halcyons will be showcasing their new kit, which is a replica of the original playing kit.

Masters RL is a mixture of touch and full-contact rugby league modified to protect ageing bones, allowing all ages (over 35) and abilities to play together safely.

If you have never played before or are just not ready to hang up your boots yet, or are keen to get back on the pitch with your mates, then this is the game for you.

Masters is a social game for everyone, experienced or not. Everyone is welcome to the game this Sunday, whether to play or support.

Meet at 1pm for a 2pm kick-off at Hopwood Park, Ash Lane, Hopwood. For more details visit www.newravensrl.co.uk.
