Nicol hits brace as Austin beaten on penalties in county cup quarter-final clash

AUSTIN Ex Apprentices bowed of the Birmingham FA Premier Cup on penalties to old foes AFC Jacks.

The prolific Andy Nicol struck twice for Austin who were held to a 2-2 draw after 90 minutes.

Jacks then prevailed 4-3 in the shoot-out to secure a place in the semi-finals.

Bromsgrove Corinthians booked their place in the semi-finals of the Kidderminster Hospital Minor Cup after edging past Winyates 3-2.

Ed Tear, Chris Price and John Danckert bagged the goals for Corinthians.

Chris Chapman, Richard Maguire, Connor Deards and Lucky Nwosu fired AFC Northfield to a 4-1 victory over BGIS Fairfield to secure a place in the semi-finals of the Worcester Nursing Minor Cup.

Chaddesley Pensioners are through to the final of the Bromsgrove League Rose Bowl after overcoming Kings Norton Sporting 5-4.

Ben Ellicott bagged a brace in Studley Lions’ 5-1 victory over Chaddesley Ravens in the Centenary Cup quarter-finals.

Chris Hands, Nick Briggs and Stewart Roland were also on target for Lions.

Sporting Club Redditch enjoyed a 3-1 victory over Quinton Athletic in the Division One Cup quarter-finals, thanks to goals from Richard Tyler (2) and Dan Sill.

Bromsgrove Academicals have all-but secured progression from Group A of the Presidents Cup after a 1-0 victory over AFC Norton while Highgate Dynamos thrashed Wychbold RBL 6-1 in their Bromsgrove & Redditch Standard Shield Group A match.
