Murray, Loveridge and Armstrong agree terms to stay at Bromsgrove Sporting

BOSS Brendan Kelly has confirmed lively winger R’Mar Murray and midfielder Max Loveridge have agreed terms to remain at Bromsgrove Sporting.

The news comes just a day after Shawbury United recruit Liam Armstrong also pledged his allegiance to the Rouslers ahead of their berth at Step Four on the non-League pyramid.

Murray joined the Midland League Premier Division champions from Redditch United in mid-March and has impressed not only boss Kelly, but the fans too with his quick burst of pace, directness and clever trickery.

Meanwhile, Loveridge, who cemented his role in the centre of the park after the departures of Robbie Bunn and Liam Holt, missed the end of the season after being on the wrong end of a heavy challenge in the 1-0 victory at Sporting Khalsa in March.

But Kelly was delighted to have the ‘unsung hero’ agree terms for next season along with Murray.

“I have seen R’Mar before and always kept him on my radar and it’s a shame he got a niggling injury not long after joining because he gelled in so quickly,” said the Sporting gaffer.

“What pleases me most about him is his defensive work and I am chuffed to have him on board.

“Likewise with Max because he made the position his own.

“He is a tidy little player who gets on with his business and does not overdo anything.

“Max is chomping at the bit to get going and it’s great to have him agree terms.”

Kelly confirmed he will be sitting down with the rest of the squad on a day-by-day basis and was confident of retaining all of his title-winning squad with little negotiation.

However, the future of Sporting’s all-time leading goalscorer Jason Cowley is yet to be secured with Kelly revealing there had been interest in the striker from National League and National League North clubs.

He stressed no concrete offer had been made, though.

Sporting have also finalised the dates for their pre-season friendlies:

July 14 – Lichfield City (A)

July 21 – Shawbury United (A)

July 24 – Alvechurch (A)

July 28 – Leamington (A)

July 31 – Halesowen Town (A)

Aug 4 – Stourbridge (H)
