Millfield Rovers end Hewell's unbeaten league run

HEWELL’s nine-game unbeaten run in Bromsgrove League Division Three was finally brought to an end as the league leaders suffered a 5-1 defeat to Millfield Rovers.

Sean Bowden (2), Chris Adams, Shaun Nash and Luke Rees-Stephens bagged the goals for Rovers to end free-scoring Hewell’s brilliant run.

A goal from David Delaney was enough to fire Bartley Reds Sunday to a 1-0 victory over SO Goose.

Nick Baker struck twice in Bromsgrove Academicals’ 2-1 victory over British Memorial while Redditch Borough Sunday brushed aside Royal Eagles 6-3.




Bromsgrove Athletico went goal crazy in Division One as they put a stunned Rubery Sunday Juniors to the sword in an emphatic 12-0 rout.

Tom Keogh led the way with six goals while Callum Febar (3), Mat Fearon (2) and Alex Short completed the scoring.


Kings Heath Albion were also big winners as they thrashed Hizza United 8-1, thanks to goals from Aaron Murphy (4), Andy Court (2), Sam Murphy and Callu Collett.

Meanwhile, there were goals aplenty at the Navigation Inn where Bromsgrove Corinthians eased to a 7-1 victory over Bartley Green Owls.

Scott Taylor (4), Brad Williamson, Mike Price and Dean Palmer were on target for Corinthians.

Division Two leaders Studley Swan maintained their good run of form with a 5-2 victory over Cofton Old Boys, courtesy of a Shane Hancox double and strikes from Dave Lewis, Karl Bryant and Matt Daniel.

Solihull Moors remain in a close second after edging out Lickey End Social 2-1.

Chris Heath and Adam Pearshouse netted for Moors.

Lee Aldridge bagged a hat-trick in SHTP’s 5-1 victory over Redditch Borough A while the spoils were shared between Meadow Park and Rubery Legends who drew 3-3.

Jahmel Trevis, Morgan Trevis and Josh Hirons with the goals for Legends.

Black Horse booked their place in the third round of the FA National Sunday Cup with a 4-0 victory over RHP Sports & Social Club.

Two BDFL representatives crashed out of the Bromsgrove Charity Minor Cup at the quarter-final stage, with Catshill losing 4-1 at SSS Lions while Broughsons lost 4-1 on penalties to Beoley Village after the two sides drew 1-1.

Redditch United Sunday are safely through to the first round of the Rose Bowl after they beat AFC Norton 3-0 while Austin Ex Apprentices eased into the second round of the WA Harris Cup with a 2-0 away win at Chaddesley Ravens.

Alex Dugmore and Carl Martin bagged the goals for Austin.

Callum Burston Keeley netted four goals for Quinton Athletic in their 10-1 victory over Worcester Saints Reserves in the second round of the Worcester Nursing Junior Cup.

Winyates also progressed following their 5-2 win over Hawthorns, thanks to goals from Danny Murphy (2), Dave Phelan (2) and Jordan Porter.
