Meadow Park notch up double figures in 'Standard' Shield

MEADOW Park were the biggest winners of the weekend as they defeated FC Hop Pole 10-0 in Group D of the Bromsgrove & Redditch Standard Shield.

Four goals from Craig Barnett, three from Liam Molesworth, two from Matthew Russell and one from James Bullock secured the win for the home side.

The other Group D fixture saw Wychbold RBL beat Millfield Rovers 4-2 thanks to goals from Brad Talbot (2), Dale Hipkins and Scott Gaffney who remarkably netted inside just two seconds.

FC Highgate United picked up their first points in Group A following their 4-2 victory at Quinton Athletic courtesy of goals from Ryan Vaughan, Mike Price, Kyle Morrison and Ellis Lawson.




Anton Gardner-Bennett and Callum Burston-Keeley netted for Athletic.

Black Horse opened up their Group B account with a 4-0 victory over Sporting Rednal while Northfield Athletic enjoyed a 7-0 victory over Chaddesley Corbett.


Jason Cowley netted a hat-trick as Michael Teji, Reiss Brians, Scott Taylor and Josh Moore completed the scoring.

Elsewhere, Bartley Green Illey Sunday edged past Red Lion 5-4 in Group C thanks to braces from Connor Collins and Dan Lawrence and one from Marcus George.

Hewell claimed the biggest scoreline in Group A of the Bridgwater Cup as they eased past Stoke Prior 11-5.

Anthony James (3) and Jack Heaney (2) netted for the visitors.

The spoils were shared in the only Group B clash at AFC Northfield and Stoke Works drew 2-2.

Josh Cullen and Ben Dugmore netted for Northfield; Paul Halfpenny and Lee Smith for Works.

Sporting Club Redditch made it two wins out of two in Group C following their 5-2 victory at Cofton Old Boys thanks to an own goal and efforts from Dan Sill (2), Billy Garvey and Joe Shaw.

Meanwhile, a hat-trick from Ash Tullett and strikes from Jason Gibbons and Chris Fox guided Awkies Allstars to a 5-1 victory over Hizza United in Group D.

The sole WA Harris Cup preliminary round fixture saw Bromsgrove Athletico edge past Winyates 3-2.

Andy Squibb and Dave Phelan netted for Winyates.

Pilkington Sunday picked up their first three points of the Bromsgrove & District League Premier Division after edging past Ruberty Athletic 2-1 while Alcester Town claimed a 7-1 victory at Belbroughton Athletic.

Matthew Chambers (3), Andrew Stewart, Ellis Kalach, Ben Hands and Dean Hay netted in the win.

Rubery extended their unbeaten league run to four games as goals from Paddy Behan and Elliott Hartley secured a 2-0 win over Oak Tree Sporting.

Redditch United Sunday got their first win of the Division Two season after beating Callowbrook Swifts Green 7-0 while Studley Lions enjoyed a 5-1 victory at Spa Athletic thanks to braces from Roland Rignall and Marc Jovanovic and single from Tommy Blewett.

Bromsgrove Corinthians made it three wins out of three in Division Three after their 8-1 victory over Meadow Park Youth thanks to goals from Tom Mason (5), Ollie Gibson and Ryan Molesworth.

Arrow Valley and Chaddesley Corbett Reserves also boast 100 per cent records after three games following their respective 6-1 and 3-2 victories over FC Bromsgrove and Bromsgrove Academicals.

Elsewhere, Millfield Rovers Reserves edged past Rubery Legends 6-5.
