TWO Bromsgrove teams bagged maximum points with 4-0 wins over the weekend in the Herefordshire & Worcestershire Winter League.
The Men’s F team hosted Hagley B in Division 11 East and a strong performance from Andy Hewston with junior Ethan Oakes saw them win both rubbers without dropping a set.
Dave Jones and Alan Colley were pushed a little harder with their final rubber going to three sets but they dominated the game to win convincingly.
Captain Martin German said: “It was a strong all round display from the team to continue our unbeaten start to the season. Our blend of youth and experience is paying dividends.”
Also at home were the Ladies D team who were not to be outdone by the men as they beat Halesowen B in Division Six East.
Becky Smith with Lorraine Russell won both rubbers without dropping a set while Connie Wedelich with Marie Hackett opened with a two-set win.
However they had a tough time in their final rubber as they won it in three sets and the win moved Bromsgrove to the summit of the table.
It was not such good news for the Ladies C in Division Four East as they lost 3-1 to Old Hill A.
With the match starting late due to the poor weather conditions, Bromsgrove struggled to play their strongest tennis before slumping to defeat.
Joan McGregor with Debbie Oliver secured the one rubber for Bromsgrove.
