INSIDE VIEW - Robbie Bunn's Bromsgrove Sporting column

Bromsgrove Sporting midfielder Robbie Bunn writes for The Standard in his weekly column, reflecting on recovering from his knee injury and playing in the victories over AFC Wulfrunians and Coventry Sphinx.

I SPOKE at length with the gaffer about my recovery from my knee injury and he said I would get 20 or 30 minutes on Saturday at AFC Wulfrunians, although it was less than that in the end.

Smudger then said I would get 60 minutes on Tuesday night against Coventry Sphinx but I got more than that so I was chuffed to get the minutes in.

It’s also great to have come through those two sessions without injury.

They were two big games and we are bouncing into them thick and fast with a Tuesday, Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday schedule.

We had two massive wins – every three points is critical at this stage of the season – and as Coleshill dropped points at Boldmere on Saturday it put us back in the driving seat.

So the Sphinx game was about coming up against a side which were unbeaten in 13 and it was nice to put a shift in.

We had a bad start falling behind after ten minutes but I thought we controlled the game after that.

Once we got into it we were comfortable and it was great to get the six points from the two games.

We all can’t wait for Thatcham Town now.

We are travelling on the Saturday and not on the Friday night and off the back of two good wins we are confident.

On the FA Vase runs the fans have really taken over and as everyone knows their support is top notch.

Hopefully we will take a few hundred over there and we will give them a day to remember.
