INSIDE VIEW - Robbie Bunn's Bromsgrove Sporting column

Bromsgrove Sporting midfielder Robbie Bunn writes for The Standard in his weekly column, reflecting on his knee injury and missing the 3-2 defeat at Haughmond.

IT HAS been a frustrating time for me personally of late, with a recurring knee injury meaning I haven’t really felt sharp or anywhere near 100 per cent fitness-wise.

I first picked up the injury back in November in the 3-3 draw away from home against Westfields.

The gaffer took the decision to look for a solution to the problem and withdraw me from the squad on Saturday to help with the heeling process of the knee.

Obviously it was a very disappointing result at Haughmond.

Dropping points against any side hurts the boys deeply, but I didn’t expect that against a side from the bottom half of the table.

The reports from the boys were enough to suggest to me that we were not at the races on the day and got what we deserved.

Thankfully under Smudger and since my arrival at the club, days like that have been very few and far between and usually when those days arrive, the boys bounce back and show their mettle.

That is something that will certainly need to happen this week if we want to stay in touch at the top end of the table.

On a personal note I would love to be back involved with the boys on Saturday, but we shall see how it goes over the next few days and the gaffer will ultimately make the decision probably tonight (Friday).
