INSIDE VIEW - Robbie Bunn's Bromsgrove Sporting column

Bromsgrove Editorial 19th Jan, 2018   0

Bromsgrove Sporting midfielder Robbie Bunn writes for The Standard in his weekly column, reflecting on Saturday’s win at Stourport, penalty shoot-out heartache on Tuesday plus his thoughts on Jason Cowley and new signing Dan Preston.

SATURDAY was very much a good result for us against another strong and in-form side in Stourport Swifts.

On the day we just had to get the job done and that’s what we did.

A great finish from Jason Cowley got us up and running and Richard Gregory finished them off with his two finishes.

We set out to get three points at Walshes Meadow and it was very much mission accomplished for the weekend.

Tuesday’s cup game against Nuneaton was very different to the weekend, with six or seven of the first-team boys missing including myself.

But overall I felt although Sporting were not dominant, they were in control of the game throughout and were unlucky not to get through to the next round.

Prezzo (Dan Preston) looks to be a great signing for us, bringing his dominance and brilliant communication into our already strong back line.

Another major boost for us at this stage of the season is Cowley agreeing to stay after attracting some offers from higher level clubs.

He has been outstanding for us since his arrival last season and is a huge, huge part of the side so for him to say he would stay until the season is finished is a major plus sign for us.
