INSIDE VIEW - Craig Jones' Bromsgrove Sporting column

Bromsgrove Editorial 30th Aug, 2018   0

Bromsgrove Sporting skipper Craig Jones writes for The Standard in his weekly column and reflects on the Bank Holiday results and the importance of the fans.

SATURDAY obviously didn’t go to plan for us.

We left Lye Meadow feeling as though we had done more than enough at least taking the game to a replay, if not more.

Josh’s goal was a stunner and we should really have kicked on from there, but lapses in concentration and individual errors cost us.

I think everyone who witnessed the game would agree there were some strange decisions from the officiating team, but nevertheless we have to work on improving the changeables and handle the unchangeables as best we can.

Monday was the perfect chance to get back to the bread and butter of league football at Sutton but we didn’t play well at all first half.

In fact it took us a while to get going in the second half but when we did it looked like there would only be one winner.

Coming from behind to take a point when we were far from our best shows the character we have in our dressing room.

Hopefully we can match this with more quality going forward.

This week sees our first home Saturday kick-off of the season against Aylesbury.

I hope our faithful fans turn up in numbers and we can repay you with a good performance and three important points.

Your support could make all the difference.
