Heavy defeat for Bromsgrove

BROMSGROVE had a day to forget as they were dismissed for just 100 against Attock who secured a comfortable home victory last Saturday.

Ash Newfield made 29 and Ryan Pedley battled to 25 but there was very little support along the way as Adam Jones, Tom Green, Mark Evenson and James Ganderton all failed to get off the mark.

Attock, meanwhile, required just 20 overs to reach victory for the loss of just two wickets, with Asim Khan scoring 39 off 40 balls before he trapped LBW by Ganderton, who also removed Rawait Khan.

There were no mistakes for the Seconds who made 212 thanks to Mark Bilbrough (60) and skipper Jules Court who top scored with 65.

Alistair Hickman took five wickets as Sutton were dismissed for just 97 with 33 of those runs coming from wides and no balls.

Meanwhile, the Thirds faced their toughest challenge of the season so far when they hosted promotion candidates Kempsey. Batting first, the home side notched up 194 all out as Henry Dwyer top scored with a brave 53.

But Kempsey reached the target in the 41st over just two wickets down courtesy of Lance Ohren’s 72.
