CATSHILL lawnmower racer Richard Hawksbee claimed yet another race win when taking on an event at the New Inn on Clifton on Teme.

On a short and twisty track, Hawksbee encountered a few close calls with fellow drivers, but unlike some of his counterparts, was not involved in any major incidents.

Completing 12 four lap races in the sprint event, Hawksbee kept himself in contention for the title with his ranking of third going into the final 20 lap reverse grid race.

After making an excellent start to the deciding race, the experienced lawnmower racer demonstrated his class once more by powering through the field and finishing first, to ensure he once again stood on the top step at the podium – next to WMLMRA members Carl Dimmock (2nd) and Matt Cable (3rd).

Hawksbee hopes to take another win for the season when racing in the Live and Let Live event in Whitbourne, Herefordshire.
