Partisan top after winning seven-goal thriller - Bromsgrove & District Football League - Week 12

A CLASH between the top two in Division Three of the Bromsgrove & District Football League went the way of Bromsgrove Partisan after a seven-goal thriller with AFC Blackwell.

Adam Deeks’ double and goals from substitutes Bradley Daw and Liam Slade ensured the hosts departed with their most valuable three-point haul of the season in the 4-3 victory.

Luke Rowlands was on target with a brace while Craig Goldsby also found the net for Blackwell, but their efforts were not enough to prevent Partisan leapfrogging them to lead the division after eight games played.

Northfield Athletic were 7-2 victors away at Catshill in the sole fixture in Division One, a result which moves them into sixth, while the losing side sink to the bottom of the table.




Broughsons caused an upset to advance to the third round of the Worcester Nursing Junior Cup at the expense of Premier Division side Chaddesley Ravens.

The visitors from Division One struck through Dan Gaffney, Ben Higgins and Adam Watson to end up on the right side of a 3-2 scoreline and dump out the high-flying hosts.


Arrow Valley are safely through to the next round of the Worcester Nursing Minor Cup after a fine 5-0 triumph at Eaton Rovers.

The Division Three outfit were good value to advance in the second-round clash thanks to goalscoring contributions from David Evans, Owen Fisher, Jay Russell and Leon Kandekore – who notched twice on the scoreboard.

Jake Wicketts and Chris McGrory were at the double for Division Two leaders West Heath Allstars, who progressed 6-2 in a comeback win at Hawthorns.

Christopher Fox and Jason Gibbons also registered their names on the scoresheet in a game which defined the the idiom ‘a game of two halves’.

Hawthorns led 2-0 after a first half in which Ash Tullett’s injury added to the visitors woes, only for the Allstars to turn the game on its head and dominate a one-sided second period.

Duke of York also made it through to the next round, much in part to a five-goal showing from Tom Keogh in a 10-1 thrashing of hosts Lower Teme & Martley Rovers 10-1.

Max Crisp ended the afternoon with a hat-trick for the Division Three side, while Ashley Roland and Robert Stevenson were also in scoring form.

In the Birmingham FA Sunday Minor Cup, Division Two outfit Royal Eagles depart at the second round stage after a 4-2 loss at home to Netherton Tigers.
