TWO cricketers wrote themselves into the Bromsgrove CC history books when they became the first girls to play in an open age match for the Boars.
Eve Smiley and Charis Pavely made their debuts for the Fourths in a Worcestershire County League Division Two Second XI clash against a strong Evesham Seconds.
Batting first, Bromsgrove scored a slightly under-par 250, thanks to Richard Barnes (92) and Ian Ingram (60).
In reply, Evesham raced to victory, despite losing a flurry of wickets late on.
Smiley returned with 2-30 and Paveley took 1-25 as well as taking a stunning catch.
It was a proud moment for girls head coach Kelly Evenson who has worked hard over the past three seasons to build the girls section at Bromsgrove CC.
