Former Barnt Green Primary School students fire Aston Villa to under-16 title success

TWO former Barnt Green Primary School students have helped Aston Villa win the FA Girls’ Midlands Under-16s League.

Imogen Sinclair and Becky Gompertz have been an integral part of Villa’s unbeaten season with a game to spare (won ten, drawn one).

The duo, who play as centre-half and left-back respectively, will now trial in the summer to see if they can get into the Villa’s Ladies Development Squad and eventually the Ladies team.

Imogen, 16, met Rebecca, also 16, at Barnt Green Primary School where they became the best of friends before moving to Alvechurch Middle School.

And in 2009 they joined the Aston Villa Girl’s Academy, playing for the under-10s before moving to the under-16s.

Imogen now studies at RGS Worcester while Becky goes to South Bromsgrove High School.
