THE 15TH staging of the Timberhonger 10k – held in conjunction with Bromsgrove Carnival week – proved a success as it was well marshaled and organised by Bromsgrove & Redditch Athletic Club.

The 10k course is very testing on narrow country lanes with some climbs and a long, straight run into Sanders Park.

Leading the B&R athletes home was tenth placed Malcolm Duff in 38.00 while the overall winner was Redditch athlete Joe Smith, of Tipton Harriers, in 33.09.

Other B&R results: 13th Gavin Moorhead, 38.17; 24th Carl Hatton, 40.14; 37th Adam Parr, 41.30; 39th Robert Mole, 41.34; 40th Joshua Wiseman, 42.10; 70th Sam Lake, 44.42; 72nd Huw Wiseman, 44.51; 199th Mike Hanson, 53.47; 252nd Angela Timothy, 55.45; 253rd Julia Blake, 55.47; 257th Jennifer Lipscombe, 55.56; 311th Jayne Wiseman, 58.32.

Some 542 runners completed Saturday’s event – an increase on last year’s figure.

First woman home was Leonie Balter of Birmingham Running, Athletics & Triathlon Club in 38.18.

B&R’s next event is the third of the Midweek Series races at Droitwich on Wednesday, July 12.
