AVONCROFT’s under-nines lifted the South & Central District Finals Trophy for a second consecutive year.
Croft had been placed in a group alongside Ombersley and Bewdley for the tournament which was held at Worcester Nomads CC.
After winning both games, Croft progressed to the final where they faced Feckenham.
Feckenham had defeated Barnards Green and Worcester on route to the final.
In a below-par batting display, Avoncroft found themselves up against it due to some poor shot selection.
However, after a mid-innings debrief, the U9s came out fighting in formidable fashion.
Each player bowled exceptional overs with barely a boundary in sight.
Combined with fully committed fielding as well as a caught and bowled wicket in the final over, Croft restricted Feckenham to a matching total.
As a result, the trophy was shared between the two teams.
Croft now turn their attentions to the County Finals in September.
