AVENUE lifted the Bromsgrove League Division One Cup after beating Bromsgrove Athletico in a dramatic penalty shoot-out.

Sam Wright had put Athletico ahead before Danny Moy levelled just before the break.

The score remained at 1-1 after the second half which resulted in spot-kicks where Avenue prevailed 5-4, Reece Williams hitting the winning penalty after Aron Graham hit the bar.

Life was easier for Studley Lions who roared to Worcester Nursing Minor Cup glory with a 5-0 victory over Kings Norton Sporting.




Ben Ellicott (2), Marc Jovanovic, Chris Hands and Robbie Ager were on target for Studley.

There was one game in the Premier Division where BGIS Fairfield edged past Rubery United 3-2, thanks to a brace from Carl Martin and strike from Dominic Strevens.


Hawthorns moved up to third in Division One after thumping relegation-threatened Sporting Grapevine 5-0.

Chaddesley Ravens were the biggest winners in Division Two with an emphatic 11-1 victory over Redditch United Sunday.

Leon Hewitt (2) and Jack Garghan were on the scoresheet in Rubery Sunday Juniors’ 3-2 win at Winyates while Awkies Allstars came through 5-3 winners over Spa Athletic.

Jason Gibbons (2), Ash Tullett, Chris Fox and Jim Carnihan got the goals for Awkies.

Division Three leaders Arrow Valley were held to a 1-1 draw at Cofton Old Boys.

Jim Nolan bagged four goals in Lickey End Social’s 7-0 triumph at Crown Athletic, Alan Parkinson was the hat-trick hero for Chaddesley Pensioners who defeated Hewell 4-2 while Royal Eagles ran out 4-2 winners at Rubery Legends.

Ryan Wood, Callum Blakeney, Josh Tisdall and Tom Kearns netted for Eagles.

Catshill closed the gap on Division Four leaders Bromsgrove Academicals to two points following their 6-1 demolition of AFC Norton.

Lewis Smith came on a substitute to net three goals while Nathan Poole, Dan Wilkes and Stee Collett also scored.

Academicals were involved in Presidents Cup group stage action on Sunday and secured a 4-1 win at Meadow Park Youth while Redditch Borough edged past Stoke Prior 3-2.
