BROMSGROVE Sporting Colts U16 Reds progressed to the final of the Worcestershire County Cup crushing 7-0 victory against Brandsford Badgers.
Only three of the 14 Bromsgrove teams got out onto the pitch, with the others being postponed.
But the U16s Reds put Brandsford to the sword at the Ryland Centre, thanks to a stunning Ashley Preece hat-trick in addition to strikes from Andrew Edwards, Ewan Edwards, Ryan Terry and Joe Wykes.
Sporting’s U12 Colts earned a draw against table-toppers Lyndon Colts in U12 Division Five of the Central Warwickshire Youth League after a six-goal thriller.
The 3-3 draw keeps third-placed Bromsgrove four points behind Lyndon, albeit having played two games more.
Olly White, Jonah Bradley and a Kaelan Cole penalty scored for Bromsgrove, who became only the second team to take points off the division leaders this term.
The U17 Colts Reds came out on top in an ill-tempered game against Kidsgrove Athletic in the Midland Junior Premier League.
It was a test of character for Bromsgrove’s young guns against an under-18s side, but they passed with flying colours with a 1-0 win, courtesy of Luke Brown’s strike.
