BROMSGROVE & REDDITCH Athletic Club’s under 13 boys’ team capped a sensational cross country season with another win in the final fixture of the West Midlands Young Athletes League at Wolverhampton.

Having won all four fixtures, the boys emerged overall winners by a massive 189 points.

Six of the team competed in enough of the fixtures to feature in the final individual league positions and all finished in the top 20, with Matthew Bevins leading the way in third.

William Pridden was tenth, Samuel Hembry 11th, Nathan Sanders 13th, Willem Hembry 14th and Joshua Bevins 19th.

This success followed on from the team winning both the Worcestershire County Championships through the efforts of Pridden and the Hembry brothers and the Midlands Counties Championships thanks to Matthew Bevins, Sanders and the Hembry duo.

The latest accolade completes a set of results which is unprecedented in recent memory for the club and team manager David Sanders said: “It’s very rare for a club to have so many great athletes in one age group.

“The boys have all worked hard through a very muddy winter and deserve their amazing success. They’re all very competitive but also great friends and really support each other.”

Alongside team success, all seven boys have been selected to represent their counties in either English Schools or Year 7 National Finals.
