NEW arrival Lee Chilton can provide the missing piece for Bromsgrove Sporting, according to manager Brendan Kelly.

The experienced 34-year-old joins from Midland League Premier Division outfit Sporting Khalsa, adding Bromsgrove to an extensive list of clubs in the Midlands football circuit that ranges from Leamington, Alvechurch and Stourbridge – to Halesowen Town, Evesham United and Stafford Rangers.

Operating as a winger and as a supporting striker, Chilton finally makes the move to the Victoria Ground having been linked with a move at the beginning of the 2019/20 season.

And his new manager is already excited to see him get his career as a Rousler underway.

“Chilly is a player I know well, having played with him previously,” said Kelly.

“He works hard and has bags of quality, leads by example and scores goals.

“He will bring something to the team that we are lacking right now. I’m very pleased he has signed.”

The club are currently out of action in the Southern League Premier Central until a home meeting with Stratford Town on Saturday, December 5 at the very earliest, due to the current suspension of non-league football below Step Six.

Meanwhile, a revised date of Tuesday, December 15 has been set for the recently postponed home game with Barwell.
