Bromsgrove Thirds undone by Hereford

BROMSGROVE Thirds’ 100 per cent winning start to their Midlands Reserve League Division Three campaign was brought to an end by Hereford Seconds.

After three straight victories, the Boars stuttered to a 22-7 home defeat in their toughest test of the season so far.

With the rain making handling difficult for both sides it was no surprise Hereford, with their quick wingers, took a ten-point lead within the first 15 minutes courtesy of two well worked tries.

Bromsgrove started to eliminate the threat out wide and to exert pressure but could find no way through.

After half-time Bromsgrove started brightly but a counter attack by Hereford yielded another score for their quick winger.

Digging deep Bromsgrove came back again, this time with more purpose as Kieran Moule scored under the posts for Cameron Waghorn to convert.

Bromsgrove started to dominate proceedings but Hereford held on to score a breakaway converted try before the final whistle.

The Boars will hope for a quick return to winning ways on Saturday when they make the trip to Ludlow Seconds.
