BROMSGROVE Sporting’s contracted striker Jason Cowley has turned down the chance to speak with National League North side Nuneaton Town this afternoon (Tuesday).
Town chairman Lee Thorn and manager Dino Maamria contacted Sporting boss Paul Smith to check the availability of Cowley who has refused the offer to move up three steps on the non-League ladder.
Cowley said: “I am extremely flattered by the interest and I thank Nuneaton for it, but at this crucial time in the season I want to finish the job we have started.
“I owe it to the fans, the boys and the gaffer to try and achieve our goals for the season.”
Smith added: “Jason is a top player and an even better lad.
“Nuneaton’s interest does not surprise me. I firmly believe Jason will go on to play at a very good level of football.
“He has all the tools. Equally though, his commitment to us shows what sort of lad he is – we are lucky to have him.
“Hopefully together we will achieve our goals this season.”
