BROMSGROVE Prep School’s under-13 hockey team claimed the Plate trophy at the IAPS National Finals at Millfield School in Somerset.

Despite leading 1-0 at half-time, Bromsgrove were eventually beaten 3-1.

The under-13s then proceeded to beat St Hughes (Oxford) 5-2 and Cargilfield (Edinburgh) 4-1.

Bromsgrove beat Somerset schools All Hallows and Hazlegrove 2-0 and 3-2 respectively in the quarter- and semi-finals 3-2.

They then won the Plate final with a 4-1 victory over The Beacon (Somerset) and secured an overall ranking of ninth in the United Kingdom.
