BROMSGROVE’S Men’s G team returned from their festive break with a 3-1 victory over local rivals Droitwich G in Division 11 East of the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Winter League.

Fabrice Vinson with Pete Morris led the way for the win by winning both their rubbers in two sets.

Captain Martin German with Craig Horton lost a tight opening rubber before storming back to win their final rubber 6-2, 6-1 to seal an important win and lift them to mid-table.

The Mixed B travelled to Worcester D in Division Three East and were faced with a team strengthened by a last minute substitution.

The opening round was tight with each pair of Di Wilson with Alistair Liddle and Debbie Oliver with Max Feltham fighting tough three-set battles before going down in deciding sets.

The second round went Worcester’s way as they won both in two sets to gain a 4-0 victory.

Elsewhere, the Ladies D team also travelled to face a strong Stourbridge D side in a Division Five East.

Stourbridge showed why they are at the top of the table as neither pair of Beccy Smith with Steph Armstrong and Marie Hackett with Lorraine Russell were able to win a rubber in the 4-0 loss.
