Bromsgrove Men's F get much-needed victory

BROMSGROVE Men’s F got a much-needed win in Division Nine East of the Herefordshire and Worcestershire League with a 4-2 victory over Worcester F.

The first pair of Stuart Shannon with Jim Round led the way with two great wins, both in two sets.

Martin German with Ethan Oakes and Charlie Tait with John Harrup also won a rubber each to give Bromsgrove the win.

The Mixed C team drew with Worcester E in Division Four East.




Both pairs of Connie Wedelich-Niedzwiedz with Trevor Errington and John and Linda Casey won and lost a game in two sets.

The count back showed the rubbers, sets and games were even meaning the points were shared.


Despite the best efforts of brothers Dan and Tom Andrews, the Men’s E team lost out on bonus points to Stourport C in Division Eight East.

The Andrews brothers won both of their contests but only Stewart Roney with Brian Barton could add to the victories.

This meant Stourport took claimed victory on bonus points as with rubbers and sets even, they won on games by 72-65.

Elsewhere, the Ladies E team came up short in their Division Seven East contest at David Lloyd Worcester C.

Avril Pugh with Chris Mitchell and Yvonne Priestman with Alison Douglas each won a rubber as Bromsgrove succumed to a 4-2 defeat.
