BROMSGROVE Men’s C moved up to third in the table with a 3-1 victory over a depleted Wall Heath B.
Wall heath’s cause was not helped by the fact half of their team did not turn up which resulted in two walkovers for Bromsgrove.
Jack Walters teamed up with Charlie Tait to win 7-6, 6-2 before Max Feltham and 12-year-old Harley Jones lost 7-5, 6-3 in the next contest
The result moved Bromsgrove up to third in Division Five East of the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Winter League.
Meanwhile, the Ladies F team suffered a 3-1 defeat to Cutnall Green C in Division Nine East.
Claire Hancock and Di Horton opened with a 6-4, 7-5 defeat but won the match 6-1, 6-4.
Alison Douglas and Carol Cornelissen played some good tennis but were edged out in their opening game, losing a third set tie break 3-6, 6-2, 7-6.
They then lost the second match 6-2, 6-3.
Captain Hancock said: “After recent promotions we’re playing much stronger teams in this division and we are learning.
“In the future I’m sure we’ll turn narrow defeats into wins.”
