BROMSGROVE Ladies A claimed an emphatic 6-0 victory over fierce rivals David Lloyd Bromsgrove A in Division One of the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Summer League.

David Lloyd were not helped by being a pair short but Bromsgrove were unforgiving as they claimed maximum points.

With the pair missing, only the Bromsgrove first pair of Rachael Mack with Imogen Sinclair played two rubbers.

They won both in an impressive display, losing only five games in the four sets it took to seal victory.

Sally Franks with Tina Manning also won in two sets.

Hannah Weston with Katherine Smedley had a tough start.

They came in cold against the David Lloyd first pair of Clare Dunlop and Wendy Goodhill, losing the first set 6-0.

However, Weston and Smedley fought back to win the next two sets 6-4, 6-3 to ensure a clean sweep for Bromsgrove.

Meanwhile, the Men’s F came unstuck in a tight battle against Worcester G in a tight Division Nine East clash.

Despite forcing a number of rubbers to three sets, they found it difficult to convert those to wins.

In the 4-2 defeat, the positive for Bromsgrove was juniors Lucas Pye with Owen Perry showed real maturity in their matches and some high levels of skill to claim points.
