A BROMSGROVE Tennis Club duo have won the prestigious National Family Cup tennis tournament.
Coach James Griffiths and nephew Joe Hart took the title at the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton, London.
Joe, who is coached by his uncle, is the 14 and under Hereford and Worcestershire county champion in singles and doubles.
James is also a former Hereford and Worcestershire county champion in singles and doubles.
The competition began earlier this year with eight regional qualifiers where two players went through from each.
The duo got through the Midlands section against 15 other pairs and faced other players from Scotland to Cornwall after 15 other regional rounds.
At the final event held over the weekend there were four groups of four players who faced each other in a round-robin with the top two going through.
James and Joe won all three of their matches on Saturday before taking the quarters, semis and final on the Sunday.
He said they were very proud of their achievement.
“We both had a fantastic experience just playing together, let alone winning the whole event.”
