VBG Fairfield retained the LMS Shield for the fifth consecutive year as they claimed a 2-0 victory over Bartley Green Illey Sunday.

In front a 250-strong crowd at Bromsgrove Sporting’s Victoria Ground, Fairfield rose to the occasion as goals from Daniel Wilkes and Laurence Martin secured the win.

WCT Youth Raiders booked their place in the final of the Bromsgrove Charity Cup as they enjoyed a 4-1 victory over Bromsgrove United courtesy of goals from Richard Smith (2), Todd Porter and Matt Andrews.

Meadow Park will meet Raiders in the final of the Charity Cup following their 4-2 victory over CBH Fasteners.




AFC Millfields racked up double figures in their WA Harris Cup First Round tie as they romped to a more than comfortable 10-1 victory over Bridgfield.

Goals from leading goal scorer Ashley Roland (4), Ryan Wood (3) and one each for Steve Holmes, Robert Stevenson and Chris Burford secured the win for Millfields.


Meanwhile, in the Second Round of the WA Harris Cup, Northfield Athletic and Rubery Athletic played out a 2-2 draw before Rubery won 5-3 on penalties.

Joshua Moore and Paul Newman netted for Northfield; Andrew Court and Lee Davies for Rubery.

Elsewhere, the other cup game of the weekend came in the semi-finals of the Worcester Nursing Minor Cup where Hizza United slumped to a 4-1 defeat to Malvern-based Colwall Village.

In the only Premier Division game in the Bromsgrove & District League, league leaders Thomas Brothers recorded their eighth win in eight games following the 5-1 defeat of Oak Tree Sporting.

Stuart Hall shined in the display, bagging himself a hat-trick with Robert Burkus and Ross Kendall completing the scoring.

Daniel Fogarty got Sporting’s consolation.

In Division One, basement club AFC Northfield are still awaiting their first win of the season after they were narrowly edged out 3-2 by Sporting Rednal thanks to a Michael Connelly hat-trick.

Ashan Thomas netted both of Northfield’s goals.

Wychbold RBL claimed a comfortable 5-1 victory away at Stoke Sporting courtesy of goals from Bradley Talbot (2), Reece Maycroft, Colin Rudge and Henry Davis.

Division Two leaders Rednal Social Club slipped up in their title march as they were held to a 0-0 draw by third-from-bottom Bromsgrove Brentnal.

Sporting Club Redditch boosted their chances of survival after claiming a narrow 3-2 victory over fourth placed Awkies Allstars thanks to goals from James Cope, Tom Higgins and Harry Sharpe.

Jason Gibbons and Ashleigh Tullett scored for Allstars.

Woodgate Valley beat Hewell 4-3 courtesy of a Jamie Sippitts hat-trick and strike from Bradley Hendry, while LPR edged past Rubery Juniors 3-2.

Dean Hodges and Dominic Partridge netted for Juniors.

Division Three leaders Rubery FC had the help of a hat-trick of own goals in their 4-1 victory at Arrow Valley with Brian Halpin adding the fourth.

Garry Harvey had given Valley the lead.

Chaddesley Corbett Reserves and FC Bromsgrove shared the spoils in a 3-3 draw with Gary Moriaty (2) and Forde Mackenzie netted for Corbett; Anthony Bate, Paul Pell and Mark Smith for Bromsgrove.

Elsewhere, Stoke Sporting Reserves claimed a narrow 3-2 victory over Bromsgrove Corinthians.

Alex Beck and Sam Smith scored for Corinthians.
