Bromsgrove & District Football League Round-Up - Week 8

LONGBRIDGE Social have risen above Bromsgrove Corinthians into third place in the Bromsgrove & District Football League Premier Division with a 2-1 victory.

Last season’s Division Two winners had to dig deep for all three points on Sunday, with Jordan Hartley finding the net for Corinthians in the only game played in the division at the weekend.

Crown Internazionale and Catshill drew 1-1 in Division One, with Marcus Allbutt on the scoresheet for Catshill.

Goals from Elis Doda and Kemal Nadjat sealed a 2-1 win against Hewell Grangers to move Alcester Town Sunday up to third in Division Two.

Chaddesley Ravens are safely through to the next round of the Worcestershire FA Sunday Premier Cup following a 4-0 triumph at FC Korono, whilst Vue Bar progressed 10-3 at the expense of Quinton Athletic thanks to braces from Zaqib Hussain, Taylor Cordell and Tiago Ribeiro.

Hizza United produced the drubbing of the first round of the Worcestershire FA Junior Cup, beating Harriers Arms 8-0 with Harry Nicholls hitting a hat-trick, Devante Thompson grabbing a brace and further goals from Ashley Parker, Scott Young and Jordy Wells.

Station Inn defeated AFC Norton 7-2, SHTP edged Chaddesley Ravens Dynamo 3-2, while goals from Jon Myrie and Jack Garghan proved fruitless in a 3-2 defeat at Hornets.

West Heath Allstars also progressed, beating Wordsley Rangers 3-2 courtesy of goals from Christopher Fox, Callum McCall and Michael Ryan.

Meanwhile in the first round of the Worcestershire FA Minor Cup, Forties prevailed 5-4 against Bromsgrove Partisan, Stoke Prior enjoyed a 4-0 success at Perrywood AFC Reserves, New Chequers Inn were 5-2 winners against Duke of York and AFC Blackwell beat Dragons 3-0.
