TWO Bromsgrove youngsters recently demonstrated their talents as mixed doubles duo in the Inter County U14s Doubles at Edgbaston Priory Club recently.
Harley Jones and Josie Ward, both aged 13, participated in the Team Tennis event run by the LTA, where they represented Hereford and Worcestershire against seven other counties.
The tournament was contested by two teams for each county, playing 25 minute matches in boys and girls doubles in the round robin group stage, before competing as mixed doubles in the knockout phase.
Jones and Ward successfully made it through to the semi-finals as a pairing, coming third overall and receiving tickets for the Nature Valley Classic, also held at Edgbaston Priory Club, to watch eventual winner Ashleigh Barty, Venus Williams, Johanna Konta and a host of other star names.
