BROMSGROVE & Redditch Athletic Club runners recorded 12 personal bests and 14 season-best times at Sunday’s second Athletics Direct Midlands Track & Field League Division Four meeting in Corby.
B&R athletes doubled up in many events, including Peter Mould who is now ranked first in the country in his age group after running 13.3 in the 100m.
Sally Hogan won the ladies’ 800m in a season-best 2.25.4 and also triumphed in the ladies’ 1,500m in a time of 5.00.9.
Martin Aspley-Davis is top of the country’s over 40 rankings in the 400m hurdles after victory in 61.1 and he also provided valuable points in the 200m, 100m hurdles, pole vault, shot put and relays.
Mark Appleton ran a PB in the 3,000m steeplechase as he came second in 10.35.2 and he was fourth in the 3,000m with 9.45.7.
The 3,000m race was won by Redditch athlete Joe Smith (Tipton Harriers) in a PB of 8.54.6, whilst Joanne Frost was at her best with second place in the ladies’ 100m and victories in the long jump and triple jump.
Gloucester claimed victory on the day, ahead of runners-up Tipton and third placed B&R, who are joint top with Tipton overall.
The next meeting is on July 16 at Tipton Sports Academy. New faces are more than welcome at B&R.
