Black Horse crowned Bromsgrove League Premier Cup champions

BLACK HORSE were crowned champions of the Bromsgrove & District League Premier Cup after beating Belbroughton Athletic 2-1.

In front of 213 fans at the Victoria Ground, Dan Carter had given Horse the lead after 18 minutes before Sean Brain doubled the advantage on the stroke of half-time.

Ricky Cowdell snatched a lifeline on 51 minutes for Athletic but it was not enough as Horse held on to win the cup.

In a ten-goal thriller in the quarter-finals of the WA Harris Cup, Red Lion ran out 7-3 winners at FC Highgate United.




Dan Bearcroft (3) bagged a hat-trick for United with Kingsley Smith, Ant Mcnally, Josh Green and Peter Jenvey completing their scoring.

Four goals from Colin Tandy helped Bartley Green Illey Sunday progress as they beat Meadow Park 6-1.


Connor Collins and Alex Dugmore were also on target for BGIS.

Spa Athletic booked their place in the semi-finals of the Bridgwater Cup after beating Callowbrook Swifts Green 3-0.

Matt Winsper, Tom Harris and Luke Rainbow got the goals.

There was one game in the Premier Division which saw Pilkington Sunday edge past Millfield Rovers 3-2 while in Division One, Oak Tree Sporting thumped Quinton Athletic 7-3.

Rory Milbourne and Jack Steele netted hat-tricks for Sporting whose other scorer was David Marsh.

The other Division One game saw Wychbold RBL defeat FC Hop Pole 6-2.

A hat-trick from Danny Ludlow inspired AFC Northfield to a 6-1 victory over Sporting Club Redditch who have now lost their 100 per cent record.

Aaron Westwood (2) and Bradley Dugmore also scored for Northfield.

Awkies Allstars edged past Studley Lions 2-1 while Redditch United Sunday beat Hizza United 3-0.

Jamie Sippitts, Jack Garghan and Tory Herbett got United’s goals.

Division Three leaders Stoke Works returned to winning ways with a 3-2 victory at FC Bromsgrove thanks to strikes from Jon Snell, Paul Badger and Paul Halfpenny.

Antony Ward bagged a hat-trick for Chaddesley Corbett Reserves who maintained their promotion push with a 6-2 victory over Bromsgrove Academicals.

Cofton Old Boys beat Meadow Park Youth 4-1 while Aarow Valley enjoyed a 5-1 win over Millfield Rovers Reserves.

Reece Miles (2), Robert Voice (2) and Matt Remes netted for Valley.

Elsewhere, Bromsgrove Corinthians and Rubery Legends drew 2-2.
