Barnt Green maintain top flight status after double header

BARNT GREEN Mixed A team faced a double header to maintain their status in Division One of the Herefordshire and Worcestershire League.

On Saturday, the team travelled to Manor Park B where they won by three rubbers to one.

The youngsters Rachel Scott and James Hodges won both of their matches while the youngest member of the team, Beth Harris, won one and lost one with competitive veteran James Flynn.

After an ice bath and massage overnight, the same four stepped onto the court against Worcester B and claimed a winning draw to secure their top flight status with a third place finish.




Both pairs winning a rubber each.

The Men’s B team secured promotion to Division Three by the finest of margins.


After all the results had been collated at the end of the season, Barnt Green finished ahead of Pershore by a single rubber.

The Mixed B team succumbed to a 3-1 defeat to Moreton in Marsh B.

Pat and Martyn Langston winning the rubber.

The Ladies B team ended their season with a winning draw against David Lloyd Worcester D.

The pairs of Linda Garvin with Carolyn Fox and Sarah Morgan with Debbie Warren won a rubber each to ensure they ended the season as Division 11 champions.
