Baker bags hat-trick as Bromsgrove Academicals secure cup final place

NICK BAKER bagged a hat-trick as Bromsgrove Academicals booked their place in the Presidents Cup final with a 7-1 victory over Redditch Borough.

Ryan Cooper (2), Martin Bonnar and James Hylton were also on target for Academicals who will meet Meadow Park Youth in the final after they ran out 4-2 winners at Catshill.

Winyates are through to the semi-finals of the Bridgwater Cup following their 3-1 victory over Redditch United Sunday, thanks to goals from Andy Squibb (2) and Dave Phelan.

Highgate Dynamos moved up to second in the Bromsgrove League Premier Division table with a 3-0 success at BGIS Fairfield who dropped to third.

Odane Barnes, Orrin Pendley and Brett Fellows netted for Dynamos.

AFC Northfield have been crowned champions of Division One following Tuesday night’s 5-0 victory over Hawthorns who lost 3-1 to Wychbold RBL on Sunday.

Connor Cashmore (3), Arron Graham, Alex Short and Matt Chambers netted in Bromsgrove Athletico’s 6-2 defeat of Sporting Grapevine.

Chaddesley Ravens were the biggest winners in Division Two as they thumped Bromsgrove Corinthians 8-1 while Studley Lions enjoyed a 4-1 home win over Rubery Sunday Juniors.

Marc Jovanovic (3) and Nick Briggs netted for Studley.

In Division Three, Lickey End Social went goal crazy as they thrashed Crown Athletic 9-0, Cofton Old Boys and Chaddesley Pensioners shared the spoils in a 3-3 draw while Chris Heath bagged a hat-trick in Kings Norton Sporting’s 4-1 win away to Rubery Legends.

Elsewhere, in the sole Division Four game Stoke Prior edged past AFC Norton 3-2.
