THE CHILDREN from Jellybabies Nursery and Pre-School have been busy participating in a range of activities, writes Shaun Bowden.
On Father’s Day the children made cards and presents for their dads, granddads and uncles.
The older children drew pictures of their father figures and spoke about what made them special while the younger ones decorated bags which they filled with pencils and Jellybabies for their dads.
Then on Tuesday the children visited the Northfield Fire Station where they were given a tour of the building by Blue Watch.
The crew taught the children about fire safety, let them watch a DVD on the subject, gave them demonstrations of the equipment such as hoses and breathing apparatus and they even had the chance to sit in a fire engine.
Both activities followed a theme of ‘people who help us’.
