BROMSGROVE District Council is reminding businesses which are still operating during the lockdown to stick to the Covid regulations.

It follows an investigation by Worcestershire Regulatory Services the weekend before last which visited 35 pubs, restaurants and takeaways across the district and found issues at ten of them.

A Bromsgrove District Council spokesperson said the breaches were ‘relatively minor’ and all ten were advised about their future conduct.

“Like the rest of the county one of the issues remains around takeaways remaining open and accessible after 10pm.

“We would like to take this opportunity t remind takeaways particularly that after 10pm food should only be collected by customers who remain outside of the premises, or via delivery.”

But Coun Peter McDonald has called for the businesses in breach of the regulations to be prosecuted and their names and locations revealed.

“They should be named and shamed.

“It is important to highlight which places have been complying with the regulations and which ones haven’t so people can choose to go to the ones where they know they will be safe and the rules are being followed.”
