Winterfold School youngsters step back to Tudor times at Harvington Hall

Bromsgrove Editorial 19th Sep, 2018

PUPILS from Winterfold School in Chaddesley Corbett were transported back to Tudor times when they visited Harvington Hall, writes Amber Reohorn.

The year one children were fascinated to see and hear about the differences between now and life back then, from the dirty base of the bread being cut off and the upper crust given to the upper classes to the lack of hygiene in their toilets.

A school spokesperson said “It was great to experience life in such an amazing building and learn about the Tudor way of life which, the children have learned, was very different from our own”.

The boys in particular were ‘surprised’ to hear that back in Tudor times boys wore dresses until the age of six.
