THE Primrose Hospice is looking to smash the 200 mark for people to sign up to its Santa Fun Run around the Arrow Valley Lake next Sunday, December 1.

Already 170 people have signed on the dotted line for the fun event and hopes are high even more will join in.

Sarah Harris, community fund-raiser, said: “We are so close to reaching our milestone of having 200 Santas signed up.

“Last year’s Santa Fun Run was an amazing event with lots of people enjoying dressing up as Mr or Mrs Claus and getting into the festive spirit.

“You don’t have to run the course – you can walk, jog or do a mixture of both – just as long as you have lots of fun on the way around.”

There are three courses to tackle, a 10k, 5k and a 1k route ideal for children.

Four legged friends on a lead are also welcome to take part.

The event is being supported by Co-operative Funeralcare and running club Redditch STARS and registration begins at 10am with a warm up starting at 10.15am, followed by the start of the 1km Santa Dash.

Entry is £15 for adults to enter the 5k and £20 to enter the 10k, £5 for the 1k, and under 2s go free.

All adults will receive their very own Santa suit to wear at the event and all children (and dogs!) are fully encouraged to don their favourite Christmas fancy dress outfits.

Everyone who completes either of the fun runs will receive a special medal.

Refreshments and food will be available plus there will be performances from The Rock Choir, Bromsgrove Rock School and Redditch singer/songwriter Meg Scane.

Not only that, but VIP guest Father Christmas will also be putting in an appearance.
