WEST Mercia Police have issued advice on keeping your items secure following numerous purse thefts on Bromsgrove High Street.

Recently there have been reports that women have noticed their purses are missing or handbags have been unzipped.

In some cases the stolen bank cards have been used to take money from the owner’s bank account.

To help combat this crime, police have issued the following advice:

– Take care when withdrawing money from ATM machines and be aware of who is around you.

– Put your purse at the bottom of your bag and keep your bag closed. Never leave it on display.

– Do not carry large amounts of cash.

– Never write down your PIN or keep it with you.
