TWO MEN have been arrested after a stabbing in Hollywood in the early hours of this morning.

The pair – aged 31 and 34, both of no fixed address – were held on suspicion of wounding following the incident which happened just after midnight.

A man was walking back along Alcester Road after a night out when it is believed he was assaulted by two males.

He fell to the floor and was stabbed to his right buttock.

He was taken by ambulance to hospital for further assessment and treatment.

The two men then got into a BMW and left the scene.

The investigation is ongoing and officers are currently checking CCTV and mobile phone footage.

The same BMW which the two men fled in was then involved in a crash with a motorbike and then a tree in Hollywood Lane, Hollywood, at 12.30am this morning.

Police arrested a 34-year-old man and a 31-year-old, both of no fixed address on suspicion of wounding and they were both then taken to Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further assessment and treatment where they still remain.

The 31-year-old has a broken jaw and leg.

After the crash the motorbike rider ran from the scene.

A 38-year-old man was later arrested by officers on suspicion of assault and criminal damage after he was found to be wanted for other offences.

The road was closed from Hollywood Lane junction with Alcester Road, past May Lane to the Drakes Cross junction, to allow emergency services to deal with the incident.

Witnesses or anyone with any information on either of the incidents should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
